Creating Content in the Crazy
It’s the end of the year fa la la la la. It’s also our busiest season behind the chair! Don’t shortcut yourself from snapping those pictures of your clients, even when you are slammed. You will be so glad that you took the extra time once January rolls around. But, let’s be real, it can be super tricky in the coming weeks to spend time coming up with content to post. Mainly, because our brains are working at like a 40% capacity on a good day (insert crazy face.)
So…I’m going to share with you what I did last year! I reused old content. WHUT? Yep! I went into my insights on Instagram and rounded up my top 10 posts from the year and did a Top 10 Count Down to wrap up the year. (If you are unsure of how to find this data, I’m going to post a quick how to on my IGTV so be on the lookout for that!)
First, this allows your brain to rest a little. You can store up the pictures you are gathering now and then once you get a minute to breath you can start sifting through and really making the most of the amazing content you created.
Second, it is really fun for your clients!!! Because it’s not YOU picking the top 10. It’s technically Instagram. You can freely brag about how well the post did and really highlight the client and head of hair that scored that position in your results! My clients who landed in my top posts had so much fun getting that acknowledgement!
Third, can someone say RE POST. A repost is the easiest, free way to get your name out there. Highlighting these posts will totally up your chance of your client reposting the picture to their pages. That’s free advertisement and referrals my friend. I also found that some of my top performing posts were also ones that had been reposted by other pages, so I tagged them again! Some of them ended up reposting my count down, sooo that’s a double repost! Cha ching! You know how I feel about posting for the mere purpose of a repost, and I am not a fan…but, this is a scenario where you can set yourself up for some extra spreading of your content.
Set yourself up for success as we round out this year and go into December with a plan for your social media! Dare I say a Top 10 Count Down plan?? Let me know if you’re going to do this! Tag me in your count down! I wanna follow along!
